Predictions

MMA is a very unpredictable sport, as the outcome of a fight can change in a split second, as evident by the kick that was heard around the world when Leon knocked out Kamaru Usman to claim the Welterweight championship. Nonetheless, we will try to predict the main card of UFC 310 in this blog. Let’s start with the main event and then reach the bottom of the card.

Alexandre Pantoja Vs Kai Asakura (World Flyweight Championship Bout)

Pantoja is the favourite to win with the odds of -285, while Asakura is at +235. Both fighters are well-versed in all aspects of mixed martial arts, but Kai has had good hands and power for days. That being said, the experience is on the champion’s side. Generally, the pressure is on the champion, but in this case, all the pressure is on Kai Asakura, as UFC 310 is his debut fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Moreover, the champion has a legit ground game and has shown time and time again that it is not wise to pick against him, as evidenced by his performances against Brandon Moreno, Brandon Royval and Steve Erceg.

Final Prediction: Alexandre Pantoja by submission

Shavkat Rakhmanov Vs Ian Machado Garry

The UFC 310 will also feature a #1 contender fight between two undefeated prospects with elite striking. In his previous fights, Shavkat has shown that one way or the other, he finds a way to finish the fight and with a perfect record and a 100% finish rate, it’s tough to pick against the Kazakh warrior. On the other hand, Machado Garry also has a perfect and striking record that can shame even the most seasoned strikers. However, in his last fight against Michael Page, Garry showed some of the holes he has in his game. Moreover, Shavkat also has a ground game, which can trouble Garry if he uses it. As both are accomplished strikers, it’s unlikely that we will see any grappling.

Our Prediction: Shavkhat Rakhmanov by knockout.

Cyril Gane Vs Alexander Volkov

The next fight on the UFC 310 main card will feature a heavyweight showdown between two of the best prospects in the division. The Russian, who is a renowned kickboxer, will try his luck against the next-gen of heavyweight fighters, Cyril Gane. Judging from their previous fights, it’s safe to say that this fight will definitely be a standing affair, as the French native is also known for his flashy but efficient kickboxing skill set. Although Volkov has some elite skills, the speed, angles, and counter-punching ability of Cyril Gane might be a bit too much for the Russian.

Final Prediction: Cyril Gane by Knockout

Bryce Mitchell Vs Kron Gracie

This fight in the UFC 310 will either be a slugfest or the most boring fight of the night. A showdown between the versatile Bryce Mitchell and Jiujitsu Wizard Kron Gracie, it has everything for being a high-level grappling affair. Kron hails from the infamous Gracie family, which laid the foundation of UFC. On the other hand, Bryce Mitchell also packs some grappling pedigree with decent hands. If the fight stays on its feet, Mitchell will take an easy win. However, grappling is where the real fight will be.

Our Prediction: Bryce Mitchell by a Unanimous Decision

Nate Landwehr vs Choi Doo-ho

If longevity had a name, it would be Nate Landwehr. He has been in some absolute wars in his 8-fight UFC career. Both fighters are veterans of the sport and are at the latter end of their careers. In short, this is the perfect fight to begin this main card. Predicting this fight is not so easy as both the fighters are wild cards, and anything can happen at any moment. However, based on the calibre of fighters and their record, Nate might walk away with a win.

Our Prediction: Nate Landwehr by knockout
